Family First

Treasures In The Garden

What we need........ is each other.

That is our most precious gift.

The greatest treasure in one's life

is one's family.

We may not be the perfect family,

but we love each other

with all our heart.
                                           Timeless Reminder

Family is where we love, learn, share, are significant, gain character, are always a success, be important, and are always very special.

I choose to live with joy in my heart.

My word for today is "FAMILY!"

Brave Hearts

Lest We Forget- 2016

I need to give a thank you to someone I know not....
Someone who's long passed away, someone that time forgot.

Someone who's just a memory and left their family bruised,

Someone whose final resting place their family did not choose....

So, know you're not forgotten and let us share your regret,

Thank you to our Diggers. God bless. Lest we forget.

A Special Day

Treasures In The Garden

Every day is a special occasion.......

We should not save anything for a special occasion:
Everyday we wake up is a special occasion.

There are things that we have not yet seen.
There are things we have seen and done
and not realized they were special.

Savour, not endure. Try to recognize the special moments and cherish them.

We must not take tomorrow for granted ....
see old friends we haven't seen in ages
Call family,
 Apologize, mend fences,
Write that special letter,
Tell our family and partner that we LOVE them
....add laughter and lustre to our lives
when we open our eyes and realize "today is SPECIAL!"

Everyday, every hour, every minute, every second is a gift!

That's what makes every day so SPECIAL!

....... because we are ALIVE!

My word for today is "SPECIAL!"

A Mother's Day Prayer

Treasures In The Garden

We would like to wish all Mother's a very Happy Mother's Day. And may all Mother's who have passed away enjoy eternal HAPPINESS.

A prayer we said for all Mothers around the world, in church this morning:

God of LOVE
listen to this prayer.
God of holy people, of Sarah,Ruth a
  Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus,
bend down your ear to this request
and bless women of our families.
Bless them with strength of Spirit,
they who have taught our children
how to stand and how to walk.
Bless them with the melody of your LOVE,
they who have shared how to speak,
how to sing and how to pray to You.
Bless them with a place at your eternal dinner table,
they who have fed and nurtured the lives
that were helpless, but embraced in their LOVE.
Bless the women of our families today,
now , in this lifetime, with good things, with health.
Bless them with joy, LOVE, laughter, and pride in our children
and surround them with many good friends.
May the women who cared for young life
be carried one day to Your Divine embrace:
there for all eternity,
to rejoice with family and friends.
This blessing and all graces, we pray,
descend upon the women of our families. Amen.

Growing Older

The "man" of the moment  and his proud Mum and Dad

Treasures In The Garden

Growing older can be a time of sadness as children grow up and

move away, health begins to fail and we save for eventual funerals.

However it can be a time of excitement, happiness and Magic

and positivity.......

In the last week we have had some of all of that in our life
and made us feel glad to be alive.

....it started with the visit of our kids from the UK here to catch up with family and friends.
....a visit to Toowoomba to be with Bek as she celebrated her birthday.
....which meant we could catch up with Chris "friend" and her gorgeous family
....a lovely BBQ with Christine and her caring family
....and then a trip to Roma to be with more family
traveling through a glorious sunset
to meet up with Wayne and Leanne who drove all the way from Mackay
A big THANK YOU to LEIGH who allowed us to invade his house and all be together for........
The Christening/ baptism of Axel Blake
....Baby Axel who brought magic to all of us with his sweetness and beautiful nature
And his Dad and Mum Shane and Jamie who are doing a great job at being parents of that darling boy
....And Leigh.. who is somebody very special indeed, being supportive to Jamie  and Shane as they battle their way through early parenthood.
And the family BBQ on Saturday night where we were able to be together with Jamie and Shanes' friends and very yummy food
and a phone call from Tassie from Brady and Liane
....And the lovely Christening/ Baptism  where Christian and Maree got be godparents of baby Axel
where Axel did an excellent job of being good

....And there's more
....A picnic with Jamie's family to celebrate the Christening/ Baptism.
Now ... how wonderful was all of that!

And Last night being in Brisbane with Christian and Bek and Adam, eating at a yummy Chinese Restaurant, staying at a gorgeous BnB and the yummiest breakfast. Another big THANKS to Christian and Bek for making that happen for us. We hope you enjoy your quiet time in Malaysia for you deserve it. We love your kindness so much.

My word for today is "MAGIC!"

And we had a safe trip home today to lovely rain.

Growing In Wisdom

Treasures In The Garden

Good things come to those.......

As we get older we find out
that true happiness is NOT in
how much money we make
or how much education we have achieved,
how big our house is,
 how fancy our car.
 It's finding PEACE, JOY, CALMNESS
in our life - that will be the most important things to us.
 Our FAMILY is what matters
 LOVE is what matters.
 Things of QUALITY-  not QUANTITY!

....... who wait and grow in the ageing process slowly, wisely and graciously!

My word for today is "WISDOM!

Missing somebody....

Treasures In The Garden

I miss my kids.......

There are moments in life
when you can miss some one
 so very much
 that you just want to
pick them from your dreams
 and hug them for real.

.......I miss having family.

My word for today is "Hugs!"

Family

Treasures In The Garden

The greatest achievement in my life.......

FAMILY

Like the branches on a tree
 We grow in different directions
yet our roots remain as one.

....... are the children who still remain cossetted in my heart

and I call "Family!"

Rise Above the "CRAP!"

Treasures In The Garden

There are four thieves of Laughter,

Love, Family, Integrity, Success

Satisfaction, Leadership, Passion,

Peace Solutions, Results, Maturity .......and YOU!

Cynicism....Resignation....Anger....Procrastination

Check for "CRAP ATTACKS" in your life!

Give them a name! See what they steal from you humanity.......

then get back into living your life!

                                                                                            Robyn Moore

What wonderful stuff we can have in our lives if we can only rise above the "CRAP"!

Simple Smatterings

From an old journal entry 12/09/08

Friendship

Firs of all, i would like to have  a friend. I don't know that i have an actual friend. I know many people, but.... I don't have a friend. I guess I would like a friend, and learn how to make a friend, keep a friend,be a friend. I,m not sure how often friends keep in touch. I am very good at keeping in touch with my family. The fact that they don't keep in touch with me is neither here nor there. I won't play that game.
Maybe if I had a friend to talk with i wouldn't need to try so hard with my family.
I would make sure my friend knew i appreciated them , that i would be there if they needed me,. I would care about them, encourage and support them, be understanding, and patient and kind, and be the best friend I can be. I only need a friend! I guess I could say my sisters are friends. I could say that Yvonne, Jeannie and Noelene are friends. I do have friends faraway!
I was so pleasantly surprised to have a visit earlier in the year from Noelene and Len, and a birthday txt from Noelene for my birthday, which I loved. And the lovely surprise of speaking to Jeannie last year after many years of keeping in touch yearly at Christmas. To stop and reminisce sometimes brings back happy memories and sometimes sad ones.  But I try to brush away the sad ones and and live where I am now - living in the moment.
Sad moments since we have lived her were saying goodbye to our neighbour Jim who only had days to live and who was so scared of the unknown of dying. And having to say goodbye to Brady's friend Darryl who was in the same position was pretty hard too.

Moving on....
27/12/12

Since then, I have no more friends than I had before. I have said goodbye to other friends and 4 special aunts. We are now moving into the age bracket that it's our friends and aquaintances who are leaving.
I am always busy with my garden and craft,
I still blog for positivity, motivation, inspiration,
I still write to my family, txt and email, with very little response.
 I still go to church,
I still pray,
I still read,
 I still work part time,
I still get to travel,
i still love to cook
I hear from my sister once a fortnight which is great,
I still make cards.
So, I get on with living. I am happy right where i am at this present moment, and life is generally okay when I keep on keeping on, and I'm generally accepting of that's how things are.

Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could do.
Some blunders and absurdities have
crept in; forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it
serenely and with too high a spirit to be
encumbered with your old nonsense. Emerson
