A Mother's Day Prayer

Treasures In The Garden

 

We would like to wish all Mother's a very Happy Mother's Day. And may all Mother's who have passed away enjoy eternal HAPPINESS.

A prayer we said for all Mothers around the world, in church this morning:

 

God of LOVE

listen to this prayer.

 God of holy people, of Sarah,Ruth a

  Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus,

bend down your ear to this request

and bless women of our families.

Bless them with strength of Spirit,

 they who have taught our children

how to stand and how to walk.

 Bless them with the melody of your LOVE,

 they who have shared how to speak,

how to sing and how to pray to You.

Bless them with a place at your eternal dinner table,

they who have fed and nurtured the lives 

that were helpless, but embraced in their LOVE.

 Bless the women of our families today,

now , in this lifetime, with good things, with health.

Bless them with joy, LOVE, laughter, and pride in our children

and surround them with many good friends.

 May the women who cared for young life

be carried one day to Your Divine embrace:

there for all eternity,

to rejoice with family and friends.

 This blessing and all graces, we pray,

 descend upon the women of our families. Amen.  

My word for today is "MOTHERING!"

Soul Searching

No Time, No Time....

I knelt to pray, but not for long.
 I had too much to do.
 I had to hurry and get to work, 
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, 
 And jumped up off my knees. 
My Christian duty was now done.
 My soul could rest at ease....
All day long I had no time 
To spread a word of cheer.
 No time to speak of God to friends.
 They'd laugh at me I fear.

No time! No time! TOO MUCH TO DO!
 That was my constant cry, 
No time to give to souls in need
But.... at last the time to die.
 I went before the Lord,
 I came, I stood, with downcast eyes.
For, in His hands God held a book,
 It was the book of life.
God looked into His book and said:
"Your name I could not find.
I was going to write it down....
 But, I never found the time."

A Prayer for today

Treasures In The Garden

 

Dear God:

Let me not look back on
what I could have done........
But instead, let me look forward 
at what I still CAN do.

Rather than dreaming
 of what might have been .......
help me to have visions
of what I might BECOME.
Give to me greater dreams
for my present and future.

 Show me the battles 
You would have me fight.
Give me the strength and
  the will of mind and body
to continue fighting them
for all the days You have left for me.
                                                    The River Walk

Amen.

My word for today is "gratitude."

Finding God everywhere

God In You...

I looked for God in the

clouds on high,

where angels dance

in the far off sky.

I searched above

on the wings of a prayer,

but still I didn't

find him there.

But then I turned and....

  ....saw Him every place,

in every act of kindness,

and on every smiling face.

I found Him in

my child so fair,

and in each smile

that says to me "I care."

I found Him in

each gifted hand,

and in every caring heart

that understands.

I found Him in the

humble .

I found him in the wise,

and I found Him in

my true love's eyes.

For far below the sky of blue,

He lives in every heart

that's kind and true,

and so, of course, my dear friends and family....

....I found God in you.

What delights me?

Treasures In The Garden

 

What stirs my heart with joy and gratitude?

In the busyness of each day I pause and reflect.......

.....and ask for mindfulness
that raises my awareness
to feel the touch of God,
to hear the whisper of God 
and to see the beauty of God
 in all events that happen each day.

I look back on each day and ask myself where was the touch of God for me this day?

 And I sit with these images, and breathe, and quietly say a simple prayer of thanks for the things that were good this day.

My prayer for you

I say a prayer for you today

 

I am asking the Lord to bless you
as I pray for you this day,
to guide you and protect you
 as you journey on your way.
May His love always be with you
His promises are true,
 and when you give Him all your cares,
 we know He'll see you through.
So when that road you're travelling
seems difficult at best
 just remember i'll be here praying
and God will do the rest.

When there is nothing left but God
that is when you will find 
that God is all you need.

Believe and you CAN and WILL!
