Practice Thinking Positively

Treasures In The Garden

Get a happiness fix.......

Being a success:
 is liking yourself,
liking what you do,
liking how you do it.

.......hang out with a happy person.

Your chances of being positive and happy will automatically rise.

My word for today is "SUCCESS!"

What is Success?

A relaxing space where I sometimes
read, write eat, or think.

From My Garden

Success in my life is found in loving and  giving,
Not in winning or owning THINGS.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I still have 100% of the rest of my life to live.

Lasting happinss does not come from what I can GET.
I find lasting happiness in what I can GIVE.

And that giving is not always gift giving, but it can be something like that...... like when I have shared something from my garden, or something I have cooked with my garden produce.
But the best giving of all is
A friendly smile,
an enquiry about a persons health or that of a loved one,
an offer to pray for someone in need,
a card to wish someone well when they have been ill,
a postcard to a lonely person when I am on holiday.

And...
these are the kind of things that I too appreciate.
There is nothing more special than a phone call from someone I haven't heard from in a while,
or a visit from a friend I haven't seen in ages,
a sharing of conversation about the happenings in our lives.

I've found age brings wisdom
And with wisdom comes the appreciation of thoughtfulness and friendship and LOVE.
Money can't buy any of these things.

So.... today I pass these thoughts to you to share around and hope that you too can find lasting happiness.... and can PASS IT ON! C

If I am to partipate in the game of life I will need to appreciate each precious moment
especially those that have come from the heart.

God is everywhere

A Rose for love

             From My Garden

Faith does not only believe that God can, but that God will.
And.... faith without works is dead.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I still have 100% of my life left to live.

I can't imagine life without God in it......
in the birth of a baby
in a child's smile
in the love of a Mother for her children
in the sincere love between husband and wife
in a beautiful sunrise or sunset
in the greeting from my dog/ cat when I come home from somewhere.
in a beautiful rose
in a sunshower
in the goodness and kindness within people.......
in the innocent eyes of my grandchildren
God is everywhere if I take the time to look.

Take time to look at all things beautiful and maybe you too will find God there. ..... and share your find. C.

Those precious Moments

An abundant crop of oranges. A reward
like this makes gardening well worthwhile.

         From My Garden

Even if happiness forgets me sometimes I never give up .... I keep on keeping on.

I am responsible for making my own happiness.

Happiness is Not having things. It's inner peace, a spiritual glow, a reaching out to others, a love of self, and appreciation of the good things life has to offer.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I have 100% of the rest of my life to live.

To wake up to sunshine today was so uplifting. After a number of overcast, raining and gloomy days, and still suffering a little jet lag, was not very helpful to my spirits. But today is so much brighter. It was nice to get back to church and catch up.

Father John is in Vietnam for 5 weeks and we have been blessed with the prescence of Father Dan, who has such a sunny disposition. He makes any gloomy gospel reading seem bright and encouraging. Today he spoke about the disciples being sent out to preach wearing sandals and only having one tunic- to travel light. aand Father Dan said......" and when the washed their tunics they sat around in their underwear while their tunics dried"...... which made us all think about how difficult it must have been for the preachers to go out to spread God's word.

And afterwards a cuppa and scone and shared conversation with other parishioners we hadn't seen for 5 weeks. A bit of lightheartedness when, after about a half hour, Bob turned up looking a little flustered, saying that he and Father Dan had spent all that time trying to get out of the church. While he and Father Dan had been deep in conversation the church had been locked up with them still inside talking. Naturally everybody thought that was quite hilarious. But Bob wasn't impressed because he had to go back in and fix the door they had broken out of.
Even going to church can be exciting as well as rewarding.

If I am going to continue to participate in the game of life I am going to need to continue to  appreciate each precious moment and most especially the lighthearted ones............. come join me in finding and appreciating those precious moments. C

A unique gift for special and unique you

A Shady retreat

      From My Garden

Today:
When the sun comes up and you wake for the day,
And the dew drops, and falls sparkling on the leaves so green ,
land the breeze sings its song and the wind chimes tinkle their joyful sounds,
and the clouds dance in the magnificent blue yonder....
and the mountains echo their wisdom and bird song resounds in the distance,
and the rivers and streams ripple along with merry mirth and tinkling laughter,
and the planets pirouette through space,
and the stars tiptoe gently, softly round the moon.....
today is all yours......
made especially for you - to enjoy and admire,
because you are special and unique
and deserve the vey best life can offer.

Back To being Positive Again.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I now accept, and very much appreciate,
the abundant life I have been given.

Another day of feeling positive. I think it must be the good nights sleep I had last night. I think that is the answer, for me, anyway.

The storm on its way
We have just experienced a really lovely storm. It didn't last for long, but while it rained it was giving my garden a replenishing drink. Digger wasn't very happy. He just doesn't like those storms. There's lots of noises he doesn't like- the weedeater, the lawn mower, the blower, the vaccum cleaner. He will attack the motors and bark at them, but he hides away from the storm.

This morning we went off to the dump the offload a trailer load of grass clippings and prunings, and we came back with a trailer load of mulch. The mulch is free if we load it ourselves. We came home and offloaded that into the back garden. Wow! It really looks nice. This is probably the sixth load we have brought back. Still have loads of garden areas to go. It is so satifying to have a job well done.

The finished mulching job
Last night I watched "Celebrity Apprentice" Never watched that before. It just happened to be on while I was knitting. I actually enjoyed it.

The good things from today:
Getting the mulch and spreading it; weighing myself- I now weigh 88kg; the great lunch I made -pasta, pesto, ham and tomato salad. So Yum!  That's part of my diet I follow to lose weight. The food is so beautiful, and I am never hungry. I am now more enthusiastic and motivated.

What I am grateful for today:
The rain, feeling positive, cool weather, being energetic.

God in my life:
The storm, lovely food, a nice garden, my liile white book and praying.

Today I wish you peace, happiness, a positive attitude, lots of happiness and an abundance of love in your life. All these things are a sign of prosperity of spirit. C

A wonderful Day

Hello wonderful world!
Today has been pretty wonderful for me!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Life mirrors my every thought.
As I keep my thoughts positive,
life brings me only good experiences.

Today has been a day of sunshine fun and new experiences.
We travelled to Pittsworth yesterday. It was a good trip over. We got a lovely camp site at a very nice van park right opposite the unit where our travelling companions stayed. We had a heavy downpour late in the day. That curtailed our exploring. We did find a couple of op-shops, the Art Gallery, the postoffice, a historical village. We planned to go back today, which we did quite happily in the beautiful sunshine.

We shopped for bargains at the op- shops for plants, scarves, belts, fancy plant pots. The Art Gallery was great as well. I met a lady who likes to travel too. She and her husband are going west in 3 weeks and to Africa later in the year. Our companions met a lady who came from the Blue Mountains area where they originally came from. And we bought a card with picture the same as an original painting by a local artist.

From there we went to the historical village. We meet a man who showed us round the village . That made the visit interesting and enjoyable. We learnt a lot about Pittsworth and its history. The village was extremely well kept. People were working on displays within the village. I guess that's why it looks so well kept.

After a picnic lunch at Rotary Park we went to Millmerran. It was 42 km from Pittsworth. Lovely scenery on the way. Huge cotton crops along the way too. The sky was so blue. The clouds were like huge cotton balls just hanging without the slightest movement. There must have been no wind to keep them so still. Millmerran was really different town from Pittsworth. It didn't look quite so well kept. But we did enjoy the murals on different buildings depicting the history of the town, And the find of the day was All Saints Church which was very old with beautiful stained glass windows, and graves all round the building.Took lots of photos.

Tonight I watched "Wildest Africa"

What was good today?
All the interesting things we saw. The lovely friendly people we met.

What I was grateful for today.
Getting to all the places and back again safely.

God in my life.
Beautiful sunshine. Lovely company. Prayer. Positive thoughts.

So to the end of another wondrous day. Peace to all peoples on Earth. C
