 what the new chapter holds for you.

From My Travels

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
 I still have 100% of the rest of my life to live.

Having a sense of humour and the ability to laugh at situations that aren't all they
should  be, helps to relieve tensions in my life, and place things in perspective.


Every day is so different. Being on the boat has meant that we don't have to pack up every morning and sleep in a different bed every night. We are very spoilt. We have our person who makes up our cabin every morning and changes our towels while we are at breakfast, and at night while we are at dinner, turns down our bed, leaves us the news letter, and a chocolate, and a lovely picture of a fire on the telly and music playing.

After Amsterdam we visited Cologne. We did a walking tour there, and toured over an enormous Cathedral and other local historical places.


The next day we travelled along the Rhine Valley to Rudisheim. We passed 40 castles on the way in all states of repair and loaded with history. We had a beautiful concert with 2 electric violins and an ordinary guitar. They were magnificent.
We will pass through 68 locks on the river system. We have been through more than 30 so far, most of them were on the Main River. Once we get through most of the locks we will pass on to the Danube River. 

At Rudisheim we visited a place which was a museum of musical instruments. The building in which they were housed was about 300 years old and under continuing reconstruction. We also had a coffee laced with cognac- n-i-c-e!
Today we had a Zither concert,  and a lady came to demonstrate biscuit making. 2 men were called out to be the biscuit makers with the promise of a chocolate, schnapps, a kiss and a love song. Nigel was one of those. And they had to dress up in frilly aprons. It was very funny and the biscuits turned out really well despite all the shenanigans.

Today we were in Miltenberg in Bavaria. We did a walking tour there too into the Market Platz. What a very pretty place, buildings here are round the 400 year age. We saw a castle, enormous Catholic church, Protestant Church. Some of the buildings are still owned by original families from 400 years back or carrying on the same type of business that traded 300 or 400 years ago- how amazing.

At present we are cruising to Wurzberg. They expect to arrive there in the morning at 8.30am.

     From My Travels

Today is the first day of the rest of my life

I have 1005 of the rest of my life to live.


Well, what an exciting time we have had so far.
Arrive in London Saturday lunch,Saturday night. travelled by tube underground to 
"The Lion King"- fabulous show.
Tour of London Sunday- tower of London- crown jewels, changing of the guard at Buck Palace , Her Majesty's Life guards, St, Paul's Cathedral,a boat ride on the river Thames, a ride on the London Eye. Fish and chips for lunch,Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Tower Bridge. Sore legs that day.
Tour of Paris Monday, Lunch at the Eiffel Tower, a ride in the Euro Star under the English Channel- 21/2 hour trip each way,Notre Dame', the Louvre' to visit Mona and Venus- absolutely huge place.
Today,Tuesday, on tour to Hampton Court, Oxford, Stratford - on- Avon, and st
Loads of rain other than in Paris where it was sunny,
We are being positive and looking forward to sunshine ... tomorrow.The place is just so green.
This not my usual blog, A long way from my garden. Took some lovely photos of roses at Hampton Court. Roses grow really well here.

 This has been a fabulous experience so far, I have learned so much. The world is a wonderful exciting place. People are very exciting and nice. History is such an exciting place to be part of. I'm so lucky to have this wonderful chance to enjoy other cultures.

A surprising Day

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

My mind is filled with healthy, positive, loving thoughts that reflect themselves in all my experiences.

Peacefuul, positive,productive.

One never knows what a new day brings.

 Little did I know, when I got up this morning, that a kookaburra would have to be rescued out of our fireplace. A number of times earlier in the morning, when I was doing a declutter in my card making and knitting baskets, I heard a fluttering noise coming from the fireplace. But no amount of looking showed us what it was. So we forgot about it for the time being.

We went up to our nearest big town to a chiropractor appointment, some op- shopping, bag shopping, and the dreaded DENTIST appointment to have 2 more teeth filled. I shouldn't moan. My dentist is so gentle. The only hard part was having a numb lip and ear and jaw for a few hours.

After lunch we were preparing to go out to mow and I heard the fluttering again. This time I could see a Kookaburra trapped and fluttering in the fire space. Well,  I closed the hall door and opened the front door, and when the mesh was taken from the front of the fire the bird flew straight out of the front door. Didn't envision it would be so easy. I imagined a sooty bird flying aimlessly around our living room putting soot all over our furniture.

I've been lucky enough to spend time in my garden again today, doing my favourite task of pruning - this time in the area around the cactus garden. The trailer is full of clippings again.
I also undercoated the lamp shade for standard lamp that we bought in Mackay the year before last. Yes I've finally got started on that project! And I brought a peace lily plant in and put it in the bathroom. It should grow well in there. It is a lovely bright room. I have plants growing in my kitchen window quite successfully, and the bathroom window faces the same way. So I'm presuming success here as well.

Tonight we will be watching" Who Do You Think You Are"

 I have started a new book: "The Faraday Girls" by Monica MacInerny.

What was good today?
Spending time in the garden; Having the holes in my teeth filled; doing a good mow; getting a new project underway.

What I was grateful for today.
The kookaburra flew straight out of the door instead of flying round our living area.

God In My Life
Nice caring dentist (eventhough he wants to sell me crowns that I can't afford), nice caring chiropractor(she likes Louise Hay too).

Time to cook the dinner- left over stirfry from last night, yum!

A wonderful Day

Hello wonderful world!

Today has been pretty wonderful for me!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Life mirrors my every thought.

As I keep my thoughts positive,

life brings me only good experiences.

Today has been a day of sunshine fun and new experiences.

We travelled to Pittsworth yesterday. It was a good trip over. We got a lovely camp site at a very nice van park right opposite the unit where our travelling companions stayed. We had a heavy downpour late in the day. That curtailed our exploring. We did find a couple of op-shops, the Art Gallery, the postoffice, a historical village. We planned to go back today, which we did quite happily in the beautiful sunshine.

We shopped for bargains at the op- shops for plants, scarves, belts, fancy plant pots. The Art Gallery was great as well. I met a lady who likes to travel too. She and her husband are going west in 3 weeks and to Africa later in the year. Our companions met a lady who came from the Blue Mountains area where they originally came from. And we bought a card with picture the same as an original painting by a local artist.

 From there we went to the historical village. We meet a man who showed us round the village . That made the visit interesting and enjoyable. We learnt a lot about Pittsworth and its history. The village was extremely well kept. People were working on displays within the village. I guess that's why it looks so well kept.

After a picnic lunch at Rotary Park we went to Millmerran. It was 42 km from Pittsworth. Lovely scenery on the way. Huge cotton crops along the way too. The sky was so blue. The clouds were like huge cotton balls just hanging without the slightest movement. There must have been no wind to keep them so still. Millmerran was really different town from Pittsworth. It didn't look quite so well kept. But we did enjoy the murals on different buildings depicting the history of the town, And the find of the day was All Saints Church which was very old with beautiful stained glass windows, and graves all round the building.Took lots of photos.

Tonight I watched "Wildest Africa"

What was good today?

All the interesting things we saw. The lovely friendly people we met.

What I was grateful for today.

Getting to all the places and back again safely.

God in my life.

Beautiful sunshine. Lovely company. Prayer. Positive thoughts.
